Lives and works in Maastricht, NL

‘‘I have always been drawn toward the past and its imperfections on every level of my practice as a photographer: I work with analogue technologies and chemical
processes, and my photos embrace the blemishes inherent to aging cameras and hands-on, ‘human’ labour. I am also continually drawn to subjects that depict decay, flaw, vanishing memory, and faded glory. In this, I both question my motivation – do I feel nostalgia
for a tarnished past that I have never experienced? – and the persistent human pursuit to modernize, as underpinned by the erroneous assumption that ‘newness’ can bring society closer to perfection.’’
